After an eight hour bus ride. I finally made it to Berlin. What a beautiful city. On the way in, we passed what the bus driver said was the Berlin Wall. I was a bit skeptic because I didn’t know: one it is right on the street corner and two it has artwork all over the wall. The artwork, though creative, wasn’t what I had in mine. For some reason I had envisioned names and dates, destroyed cities and body counts. Instead there were colourful dragons, painted faces, graffiti type words and in its own way I understood the meaning, the colour, and the peaceful memory we are to remember.
The painting below, along with two or three more a on the wall that I saw, relates visually to the days of war. However having these pictures nestled in with the other paintings, I truly felt a sense of completion.
We have to remember in order to have the capability to move on in search of a brighter day. There is so much history, I wish I was here longer to see more. Nevertheless I am here to work.
….and work I shall do! If you get the chance, Berlin, Germany would be a great place to visit and soak in some history.
Till our paths cross
